Roseburg Energy LLC is owned by Stellar J Power Group.  The facility went into commercial operations in 2011 producing electricity for up to 1,444 homes.  The 1.6-Megawatt generator runs on the biogas produced by the decomposition of garbage within the Roseburg County landfill.  Roseburg Energy collects approximately 300,000,000 cubic feet of biogas annually through a collection of more than 80 horizontal and vertical wells and sends the biogas through more than 2 miles of pipeline to the powerhouse where the biogas is cleaned and then combusted in a Caterpillar 3520 engine.  The electricity is sold to PacifiCorp with the revenue shared between Stellar J and Douglas County.  A win for the environment, Douglas County, and Stellar J.
